I have been interested in birds for as long as I can remember, and I have become seriously interested in systematic ornithology over the past five years. Living in Delhi—second only to Nairobi when it comes to bird diversity in a major city—has given me an excellent opportunity to study North Indian birds.
There's a separate page on books about Indian birds, which I am often asked to recommend.
My journal also has the occasional article about birds.
Checklists, directions, and other information about a few of my favourite locations.
I'm available as a professional guide to small groups of interested birders on day trips in and around Delhi.
Here are some birds I've photographed.
I don't usually carry it when I'm bird-watching, but I use a Canon EOS 40D with a Sigma 70-300/4.5-5.6 lens and a Manfrotto 055proB tripod with a 486RC2 head. (The lens isn't particularly suited to bird photography. Not long enough, fast enough, or sharp enough.)
